Monday, August 05, 2024 (An Unthinkable Victory: The End of a Dictator's Reign)

It is an unbelievable day for the nation as Sheikh Hasina, the dictator who controlled the media, law enforcement agencies, and legal system, has just fled from Bangladesh. As a result, people have revived democracy and are celebrating the victory. It is a hard slap to the face of an arrogant fascist ruler.

This morning, I was very sad to find out that they had turned off the internet. I was worried about the students, as the police had killed many during the last internet shutdown. I was deeply disappointed, but the whole nation became joyful upon hearing that she had fled the country.

I went to TSC and Shahid Minar to join the celebrations, and I saw that everyone on the streets was very happy and openly raising their voices, something that had been missing from our country. I am 30 years old and have never been able to vote with my own consent. I just hope for a future where I can raise my voice without fear.

Never consider your rival as weaker than you

Sometimes we consider that our enemy is less powerful or weaker than us. Basically historical data or statistically stated things show us. When we come to know it, we think about an easy victory. But a weaker side may surprise you with its strong and flexible plans. In the field of battle, a weak competitor may defeat you if you don’t have a proper plan. 

Today, we have a war in “Clash of clans” game in which our enemy is much more powerful than us. They thought that they would easily win the war. But we have our own plan. When we didn’t attack, they considered us an inactive clan. We just grabbed the opportunity of their belief. Our first attack has been executed before 42 min of ending. We knew we could get 12 stars at max but we planned to get more percentage. Things went according to our plan and we won the game with higher percentages. 

Similarly, celebration before victory makes a man blind because he is not ready for any unfavorable situation at that time.
