Monday, May 25, 2020 (Eid during the period of Lockdown)

It is Eid Ul Fitr-2020. After fasting 30 days, Eid Ul Fitr comes to every Muslim as the biggest festival. Scenario is little different this year as the world is not a safe place at all. The whole world is covered with the cloud of fear. The fear comes from Corona virus. The number of infected persons is increasing day by day which is not a good sign at all. At the end of March, Bangladesh was in last 30th country and today it stands at 25th country. At the same time, government plans to withdraw restriction imposed by them.

From my childhood, Eid Ul Fitr is very special. After all, it is a festival for celebrating with family, friends, relatives. Last year, I did not go anywhere but there was no fear at that time. I have not gone to mosque for offering Eid prayer this year, though the prayers were allowed to offer in the mosques now.

Today, I feel like remaining in a jail. The worst part is that I have the key to unlock the prison but I want to remain in the prison. :)

Friday, May 15, 2020 (Durning the days of Quarantine, part-6)

I know the unlimited supply of any thing destroys the demand of that thing. Therefore, the value of that thing becomes zero. Even though it is necessary for life, we don’t care about it. We need Oxygen to live but we never care about it due to unlimited supply.

There is unlimited time now  and i don’t know about it’s ending point. I try to use it in a proper way. But maintaining routine is very difficult now. At the same time, i miss those days when i could go to any place as i wanted. I could not move without fear for 2 months. No one wants restricted life. In fact, freedom is the ultimate goal for many persons.

The sky is big and it is definitely bigger than our expectation. It is a long time now and there is a lot of times needed to end it. Day by day, the situation is becoming more crucial.

Friday, May 08, 2020 (During the period of Lockdown, Part-5)

Before the lockdown, I recognized that the lockdown situation could also be implemented in our country because all the countries around the globe had started locking down at that time. So, I was pretty sure about happening same thing in Bangladesh.

I went to saloon on 17.03.2020 last time and I found there were no ways to avoid transmission of Virus in that place.

I took decision to buy shaving materials. I never cut my beard myself and always went to saloon to cut it. I started shaving my bread from 2009 in Saloons. Situation things remain same. But changing situation teaches us many things and we must crop up with existing situation.

Similarly, I became bald because there was no scope to cut hair.It was done by my nephew and wife.

Saturday, April 25, 2020 (Staring the month of Ramadan during the period of quarantine)

So, it's the first day of Ramada-2020 but everything is not usual like other years. Every year, the day starts like a festival but the scenario is totally different year this. There is no iftar shop this year. Infact, there is also restriction on "Tarabi" Prayer.

Many initiatives are taken but it is not implemented properly. People still go outside with or without needs. We don't properly understand the concept of quarantine.

Today, I have visited my work station and it is approximately empty. Only 10/12 persons are there.

Though I am fasting, the feeling of fasting is not same as previous years. Life is like a jail now. But the scenario will change one day which every will be normal.

Saturday, April 18, 2020 (Days of Quarantine)

The days of quarantine are days without any light. The light of hopes is missing. No one knows when the days of quarantine will end. it seems like a nightmare and there is a hope of overcoming nightmares someday.

The quarantine or general government holidays started on 25 March and announced to end on 25 April after extending 4/5 times. But it will not end on 25 April for sure and no one knows the ending date of it. Everything is quiet uncertain. The main reason behind it is obviously the lack of public conscious. They don’t follow any rules and regulation which will make hamper the life of others. I visited office last time on 7 April as TV industry is outside of this general public holiday. The office still runs with a limited employees of 20/25 persons.

I don’t get any holiday in my life without a specific period of time. In fact, the situation like this will not be faced by me hopefully in my life time. I go to bed around 1 AM and wake up around 10 AM. But dreams are horrible. I wake up frequently in nights with terrible dreams like finding water to wash hands. Things like this started around 10/12 march. Sometimes, I wake up in the night and wash my hand with hand sanitizer then I realize it's just a dream. There is a mental pressure in me now. Obviously it is because the news channels where there is no news expect Corona discussion. There may be one of the two things; firstly I am too much panic or secondly I am too much conscious about the concern. Maybe I am both panic and conscious. It doesn't matter which situation is true. But there is restlessness inside my mind all the days.

After waking up, I turn on my PC to edit videos for YouTube and switch on TV at the same time to watch news. After taking bath, I do random works like using pc or playing Pubg or other activities. For some days, I use that slot for learning Adobe Illustrator. But there is a long way to learn it properly. I watch news again after then and watch movies later on. At the same things, I teach my wife about Math, English and more on. Before going to bed, I play Pubg which is a popular game now-a-days. Days become bored because there is no specific time period of it. I have also started writing a review of my life in the last decade. I am little low and also have too many things to do. There are some positive things too like giving time to my family.

I have been feeling light fever and headache from today's morning. I know it's just a normal fever and headache but it also makes me panic in some degrees.

The days of quarantine are not enjoyable at all and those seem dark and darker with every passing day. I just want to see the light of hope now. I know everything will be normal one day and I am just waiting for it.

Sunday, April 12, 2020 (Afraid of COVID-19)

A Corona Virus infected person was detected on 08.04.2020 nearby my home. People have been terrified quickly. They took many steps quick after knowing it. Blocking roads, requesting to stay home, limiting public excess in markets were some of them. On the evening, I thought my family was safe as well as my villagers. After all, limiting public excess is the only way to prevent the pandemic disease. So, I was happy to see steps taken by all at that time.

Dreams have been broken very quickly. Dreams have been broken in quickest time when we expect that Bangladeshi people follow rules and regulation for a particular situation. Most of us do not know or have very limited idea about virus. So, it is obvious that they don’t care about anything.

Same thing happened with me also. My dreams have been broken on the next day when people violated all the steps. They did not follow any instruction. They went to here and there, gathered for gossiping in roads. Similarly, the market (known as Bazar) was also opened 2 day later.

I don’t have any problem with anyone’s activity. It is his/her right to do it. When anyone’s activity hampers other’s life, I definitely have objection. Because he/she does have any right to hamper other’s life. Corona Virus is transmitted human to human. Right now, public gathering helps COVID-19 virus to spread more and more. So, public gathering means spreading the virus to others.

The situation of our country is going to be worst. There are 139 persons found today with Corona infection and 3 persons died with Corona. As a total, 621 persons are infected and 34 of them died. More than 1.8 Million are infected and more than 1,12,000 died as per 12.04.2020.

But the rate of infection of Bangladesh is rising in geometric way which is not good news for sure.

From my point of views, the main problem is that most of us do not want to follow any rules and regulation. Similarly, decision makers in small areas are not well educated. They don’t have proper idea about virus. The problem can not be solved in one da And changing people's mentality in one day is not possible either.

Sunday, March 29, 2020 (Pandemic)

Bangladesh is a strange country and I knew the fact. Things are proved against that most of the people do not focus on the main point. They always have interest on secondary things rather than the primary things. There are too many superstitions and blank brief among us. I don’t have any objection against anyone’s brief. It is one’s choice to have blank or incomplete brief but hurting or hampering others is not tolerable due to those blank or incomplete brief or superstitions.

I know most of the people have no idea about microscopic life in our country. Even though most of the educated persons have very little knowledge about it and it makes the problem more critical as they don’t give proper answer to others. Because they study to get degree only rather than knowledge. Similarly, their act also has a negative impact to the society.

So, the third world war has started between human and virus. In one side, there is human being and in the other side, there is COVID-19. The virus is very contiguous and can be transferred human to human which make it more dangerous. The government of Bangladesh has declared a 10 days general holiday to spend time at home for avoiding public gathering. The decision is very appreciable for sure. But people think it an Eid Holiday and start going their hometown. As a result, there are mass gathering. So, the ultimate target is not understood by people and the result of it can hamper all of us. Equally, there is a group of people in our society who don’t care about that pandemic treat.

Moreover, expatriates also think that they will spend the whole time with family in Bangladesh as a holiday. They must stay foreign countries now but they arrived somehow. And they did not follow the home quarantine order either. For this, they made real treat for us.

Basically Corona Virus is a group of viruses and COVID-19 is a type of Corona Virus. More 650,000 persons are infected and more than 33,000 persons died by this virus until 29.03.2020. It is also declared as pandemic. .

“The COVID-19 virus affects different people in different ways.  COVID-19 is a respiratory disease and most infected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms and recover without requiring special treatment.  People who have underlying medical conditions and those over 60 years old have a higher risk of developing severe disease and death.
Common symptoms include:

  • ·         Fever
  • ·         Tiredness
  • ·         Dry cough.

Other symptoms include:

  • ·         Shortness of breath
  • ·         Aches and pains
  • ·         Sore throat

·         And very few people will report diarrhea, nausea or a runny nose.

People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should self-isolate and contact their medical provider or a COVID-19 information line for advice on testing and referral. People with fever, cough or difficulty breathing should call their doctor and seek medical attention.”**
“To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following:

  • ·         Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub.
  • ·         Maintain at least 1 metre distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.
  • ·         Avoid touching your face.
  • ·         Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • ·         Stay home if you feel unwell.
  • ·         Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.
  • ·         Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.”**

All the countries face trouble to handle this pandemic and they have very limited scope to make the situation favorable. If the same thing happen in our country, the result will be worst. The main problem of us is that we don’t want to follow the instruction. It is totally our fault to have that type of mentality. Similarly, we don’t focus on main thing but we focus on secondary or unnecessary things. For-Example: When a patient of COVID-19 is found, we should make distance from that person but people gather in front of his house to see him.

This time, we need to be antisocial rather than to be social. Distant makes the situation better. After all, we will save us and others from us. J
